Four Contestants to Live in a Raft at Six Flags Over Georgia Named

Strangers Will Challenge Each Other To Win $10,000 Starting Friday Afternoon

Six Flags Over Georgia and Power 96.1 are excited to announce that four complete strangers have accepted the challenge to live in a raft for as long as it takes to win $10,000. The $10,000 Hurricane Harbor Power Payoff will begin on Friday afternoon at the all-new Hurricane Harbor water park at Six Flags Over Georgia.

The four lucky contestants are:

  • Kevin Queen, from Lawrenceville, entered the challenge because “I need a vacation! I won't hesitate to…showcase my great singing ability;”
  • Imani Bethel, from Atlanta, entered the challenge to pay off her student loans and “there's nothing better than a little friendly competition in the sun, swimsuits and water;”
  • Cassie Cantrell, from Loganville, entered the challenge because “I am currently a pre-nursing major at Georgia State University and I would put the money towards my education (duh!) and probably take my family on a nice vacation;”
  • And a mystery contestant to be named at 4 p.m. on Friday.

On June 20 at 4 p.m., all four competitors will step into a life raft, which will float in the middle of the Calypso Bay Wave Pool at Hurricane Harbor. Calypso Bay is a 38,000 square foot wave pool, which features up to four foot waves. During the day, the four contestants will live in the raft and at night, will live in a raft on land. The last person sitting will win the $10,000 grand prize.

Power 96.1 received more than 200 submissions in an online search for the four finalists. Each contestant was required to send in a picture and explain in 200 words of less why they should be chosen to win $10,000.

Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags Over Georgia is now open for the 2014 season and features the world’s first hybrid zero-gravity slide Tsunami Surge, a multi-slide complex Bonzai Pipelines, a children’s interactive playground Paradise Island and Calypso Bay. Hurricane Harbor is free with admission to Six Flags Over Georgia.
