Six Flags Friends is a series of programs throughout the Six Flags family of parks that make a difference in communities by encouraging local involvement, supporting the mission of various non-profit organizations and bringing the thrill of Six Flags to children and families across North America.
Six Flags Friends is a proud supporter of hundreds of organizations throughout our Six Flags communities. Through our national partnerships, we successfully utilize our geographic span to make a difference as a unified family of parks. Through our donation program we are able to contribute to many local organizations. Six Flags Great Adventure is also pleased to support the work of organizations that make an impact in our surrounding neighborhoods. It is the work of the organizations below that truly make our cities a better place to live, work and enjoy.
Six Flags Friends is dedicated to furthering the mission of the following organizations.
Ronald McDonald House Charity Walkathon
By creating, finding and supporting programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is working to better the lives of children and their families around the world. The three core programs of RMHC—the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile—are focused on helping families in need. The cornerstone Ronald McDonald House program began in 1974 based on a simple idea: Provide a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Since that time, more than 10 million families around the world have benefited from the comfort provided by a Ronald McDonald House. In 2007 Six Flags Friends hosted our first annual Walk with Ronald at Six Flags Great Adventure.
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, nearly $1 billion has been invested to fulfill their promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
Campfire Boys and Girls
Camp Fire USA is one of the nation's leading not-for-profit youth development organizations, currently serving nearly 750,000 children and youth annually. Founded in 1910, Camp Fire USA's outcome-based programs include youth leadership, self-reliance, after school groups, camping and environmental education and child care. Every year, Six Flags Friends donates 500 tickets to the organization and coordinates Looney Tunes meet and greets for their fundraising events in March and April.
American Red Cross Fright Fest Blood Drive
Six Flags Great Adventure hosts an annual blood drive for the American Red Cross. All donors that participate in this unique "blood letting" receive a FREE ticket to Fright Fest in October.
New Jersey March of Dimes
Premature birth is the #1 cause of newborn death. It has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S., endangering the lives of more than half a million babies. And it's growing at an alarming rate. That's why we need you to participate in Walk America. Walk for a special child in your life—a healthy baby, a premature baby or a sick one. Walk for all babies. Six Flags Friends sponsors the event as well as sends Looney Tunes characters to walk in April.
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Six Flags Friends is proud to be a part of this amazing wish-granting organization and is excited to fulfill the wishes of children who dream of visiting Six Flags Great Adventure.
American Heart Association
The American Heart Association (AHA) is a non-profit organization in the United States that fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and strokes. The American Heart Association is headquartered in Dallas, TX. Six Flags Friends is proud to sponsor the Heart Rock Café gala with a donation of 500 Six Flags Great Adventure tickets in April.
