Prepare to be Dazzled as Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Brings New Light Show to Holiday in the Park


A spectacular new synchronized light show presentation, Six Flags Dazzle, will illuminate Six Flags Discovery Kingdom’s annual Holiday in the Park event when it opens on Friday, November 27. Northern California’s premier holiday event is a feast for the senses and fun for the whole family. This year, guests can enjoy added hours for more fun entertainment, traditional festive attractions such as sledding down the popular giant snow hill, the display of a spectacular 65-foot tall Christmas tree, millions of twinkling lights and meet some beautiful Clydesdale horses.


Holiday in the Park will be open weekends beginning Friday, November 27 through December 13 and daily from December 18 to January 3, 2016 (closed December 24-25). The park is also open for Thanksgiving Week, from Sunday, November 23 through Wednesday, November 25, and closed Thanksgiving Day, November 26.


Special events during Holiday in the Park include Feed the Children Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, December 5 & 6 when Six Flags will donate $1 of every full-priced ticket at the front gate to Feed the Children. On Sunday, December 6, the park will host its second annual Northern California Chanukah Festival. Dress up as Santa to participate in the Santa 5K Fun Run 2015 on Saturday, December 12 and enjoy a traditional Las Posadas event on Sunday, December 13. For more information on these events, visit


Holiday in the Park features themed holiday areas with life-sized toys, live performances, entertainment and festive attractions to get everyone into the holiday spirit. Guests can meet Santa Claus in Santa’s Workshop and have their holiday photos taken.  They can also step into a gigantic snow globe, and sled down the popular giant snow hill, great for first-time and experienced sledders.

Other transformed areas of the park include Candy Cane Lane, a canopy of larger-than-life candy canes and lollipops; Toy Land, where guests will encounter an enormous nutcracker soldier, giant teddy bear and other gargantuan toys. There’s the fragrant Christmas Tree Forest and new this year is Ye Olde Christmas Tree Lot, where kids can creatively decorate ornaments. The wonderful Cal Crush Clydesdales with their team of Clydesdale horses joins Holiday in the Park for enchanting horse-drawn carriage rides.


New this year is Six Flags Dazzle, a spectacular holiday light show synchronized to the best in holiday music that takes place in the Main Street Festival of Lights by the park’s iconic 65’ Christmas tree.

An array of holiday-themed shows are yuletime highlights that include the engaging Drench! Celebrates dolphin show in Toyota Stadium; there’s fun live dancing and singing by merry performers in Jingle Bell Rock, and Happy Holidays at the Adventure Theater. For the kids, A Carol Kringle’s Karaoke brings laughs and good times in a fun show. Plus, each night, guests can watch the nightly tree-lighting ceremony and enjoy the dazzling display of lights.

In addition to the holiday happenings, guests can also enjoy a wide variety of holiday fare plus thrill to the best of the park’s rides and attractions that includes roller coasters Medusa, Kong, V2, the tower ride SkyScreamer and the one-of-a-kind SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight.


Holiday in the Park opens to the public at 12 p.m. on operating dates before Christmas Day. As part of Season Pass Appreciation Days, (Nov. 27-29), Season Pass, Gold Pass and Membership holders are eligible to enter the park an hour early (at 11 a.m.). Closing times vary.  The park is closed Dec. 24 & 25 and is open daily through Jan. 3 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; special New Year’s Eve hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
