Fright Fest Returns to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom with Chilling New Haunted Attractions

Fright Fest® is back at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom to unleash six weekends of frightful fun while bringing a new level of terror to Northern California’s biggest Halloween event. Fright Fest is open Fridays and weekends running September 26 through November 1.

Fearful frights include the all-new Carnevil Clowns haunted maze, where menacing maniacs run rampant under this haunted big top tent, and Zombie Quarantine, a scare zone that will have even the most jaded running for cover. With a terrifying line-up of six haunted mazes (five returning with all new scares), three hair-raising scare zones, plus roaming monsters, freaks and zombies, Fright Fest is not for the faint of heart. An additional fee is required for some haunted attractions.

Families can enjoy the best of Halloween entertainment and festivities with Thrills by Day. There’s trick-or-treating along the Twick or Tweat Twail where favorite LOONEY TUNES friends pass out candy and pose for photos; and fun for all with cookie decorating, kids’ rides and fun shows.

Fright by Night begins with spirited monstertainment, most notably, the morbidly macabre opening show, The Awakening, which kicks off each night at 5:45 p.m. as the family-friendly daytime park transforms into a shadow land of ghouls and demonic creature. Guests can also experience the all-new Monster Mash Bash, a truly deadly dance party and a finale to end all finales, The Aftermath, ends the night.

Line-Up of Fright by Night Activities

Haunted Mazes (*Additional fee required)

  • NEW! Carnevil*

Evil lurks under the big top tent as nightmarish clowns make this a circus to truly end all circuses.

  • Arsenic and Arania’s Nightmare Manor*

After Nicholas Nightmare’s untimely death, his eccentric twin daughters were left to fend for themselves. Living alone in this 13-room manor, the pair eventually went insane. Venturing into this dark, gothic setting, one must face the madness and mind games.

  • Boathouse at Blood Lake*

Is the fisherman’s shack truly deserted or not? Only the brave who venture in will find out. It’s dark, creepy and eerily quiet and the lake is blood red.

  • Slaughter House Pig Farm*

This formerly condemned family-owned pork-processing plant once served human-flesh to unsuspecting customers. The slaughter house has reopened but the mystery meat remains a mystery.

  • Captain Bloat’s Shipwreck of Horror*

The remnants of a 200-year-old shipwreck remain and are guarded by the ghost of evil pirate, Captain Bloat, determined to ensure no one gets close enough to find the treasure.

  • Scrapyard of the Dead*

The workers of this ominous yet raucous junkyard are dead, but they don’t know it. They just wander the grounds adding to their stockpile of scrap and debris.

Scare Zones

  • NEW! Zombie Quarantine

Zombies are one thing, infected zombies are another in this all-new scare zone where running away and screaming only makes matters worse.

  • Arachnid Alley

Supersized spiders are truly a living nightmare for anyone that dares to pass through this dark pathway.

  • Mt. Rotting Cemetery

This cemetery ground is a haven for the living dead. After a visit to this dilapidated cemetery, find out what drives the dead to go after the living.

  • The Awakening – Dusk falls and darkness dictates the witching hour when the park is transformed during this nightly ceremony to welcome the living dead.
  • NEW! Monster Mash Bash – It’s a deadly party as the moon brings out a beastly shuffle, hop, step in this spooky dance production.
  • The Aftermath – Nightly high-energy closing dance show will make hearts skip a beat.
  • Drench! Rocks – This high-energy dolphin show showcases the athleticism and grace of bottlenose dolphins.
